TVI 2 Week Summer Intensives in NY & LA

Overview

TVI's Summer Professional Actor Training Program offers a unique opportunity for a select group of actors to study the craft and the business of acting with prominent industry professionals in America's busiest entertainment markets - Los Angeles and New York City.

Students are housed on the CSU Northridge campus, and spend an intensive two weeks at TVI Actors Studio working with industry professionals including producers, directors, talent agents, casting directors and faculty members from prominent theatre schools across the country.

This program, offered for two weeks in July and/or two weeks in August, is approximately 120 hours of coursework and includes similar content and master classes offered in TVI’s Full-time program. Students learn practical skills to make the transition from university training into the working world of a professional actor.

Course content includes cold-reading technique, auditioning skills, acting in films, sitcoms, primetime and daytime TV, theatre, voice-overs, commercials and the business of acting. These classes, taught by industry professionals, focus on the specific demands of auditioning for professional work.

Master classes are taught by visiting guest faculty members from some of the best theatre programs such as The Juilliard School, Carnegie Mellon University, RADA, and University of California, Irvine.

Highlights of the program include a television taping, individual guest speakers as well as panel discussions also provide an opportunity to learn networking, marketing and self-promotion.
