Do you get nervous on stage or in an audition when you don’t have a script in front of you? This 8-week class focuses on different improv techniques and styles to help you become a well-rounded performer.

Ross is an Actor/Writer/Comedian who started his comedy career in Chicago, where he was regularly seen at the legendary Improv Olympic. He has performed and taught improv all over the United States. He can currently be seen as ‘Eric Payne’ in Jared Hess’ MASTERMINDS, opposite Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson and Kristen Wiig and as ‘Officer Pennington’ in Christopher Guest’s Netflix comedy, MASCOTS. Ross can also be seen in the recurring role of ‘Sal Baker’ on NBC’s CHICAGO MED, Freeform’s Andy Samberg produced, ALONE TOGETHER, and in the upcoming NBC show, CHAMPIONS, starring Mindy Kaling and Anders Holms. His other television credits include; NBC’s CRISIS, ABC’s FINAL WITNESS, and IFC’s ONION NEWS NETWORK.

Course Overview

The class will start with a brief bio about Ross. He’ll then lay the ground rules of the class. By the end of the first week you’ll be on your feet doing some basic improv exercises. These exercises will continue into week two when you’ll begin to learn the structure of short form games, all the while ross is by your side coaching. After some time Ross will back off and let you dive into it head first. You’ll continue by learning the importance of listening & supporting your fellow actor on stage. This will include the importance of “yes anding’- your fellow actors. In the final weeks you will work on two-person scenes. Long form improv will also be a focal point.
