Audition Domination with M’saada Nia
This course is an overview of techniques necessary to successfully audition for the various on-camera mediums. Classes will cover marketing (headshot/resume preparation), scene study, cold reading/prepared scenes, audition room etiquette and networking techniques. Students will utilize scenes of their choosing, along with material from film, tv, new media, video games and voice overs.
M’saada Nia is an independent casting director and freelance associate/assistant who’s worked in the casting department of studio & indie feature films (Sundance film “I’ll See You in My Dreams” and oscar winner “Selma”), network series (acclaimed Own series “Queen Sugar” and the upcoming Fox series “Shots Fired”) and major video games (“Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare,” “Battlefield 1”). She loves sharing her casting expertise with actors to help them gain additional skills and insight in order to improve upon their craft.
All the students will have taped auditions at the end of the series of classes emailed to them for the various mediums, so they could see themselves on camera and have something basic to send to anyone if they don’t yet have a demo reel etc. Each class will focus on a different part of the process from beginning to end.
