Hosting Class with a teleprompter*

This intensive class will explore the different audition techniques for various genres of hosting including reality shows, talk shows, game shows, educational shows, etc. Learn the elements necessary to be a strong and effective host. Actors will work with copy from hosting scripts. This class will focus on host intros and personal styling. Amaya is excellent at communicating to the students how to bring their own personality and be themselves no matter what the material.

Amaya began her television career at age 16 as a teen reporter for her San Francisco NBC affiliate. A graduate of UCLA's Theater School, she appeared on MTV Networks The Real World: Hawaii and two Real World/ Road Rules Challenges, subsequently hosting specials for MTV. As a host,producer and writer for the flagship season of Current Television, Amaya was
able to bring interests and issues she cared about to a wider audience. With extensive experience hosting radio programs, she helps her students find their "hosting voice." Also a graduate of Improv Olympic in Hollywood, Amaya incorporates improvisation techniques into her teaching and coaching styles. Currently, acts as a consultant for cable networks like the Disney Channel and History Channel, as well several pilots in production, acting as a coach and director. She has appeared in such publications as The New York Times, Teen People, Entertainment Weekly, Us Weekly, and TV Guide.
